“My health is in my hands!”
On January 30, within the framework of the city decade against smoking among teenagers, the second stage of the series of seminar-trainings “My life is in my hands!” with the participation of experts in this field was organized in our school. The event was attended by students of the 8th forms. The honorary speaker at the event was the National Officer for Non-infectious Diseases of the Country Office of the World Health Organization in the Kyrgyz Republic, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Ms. Alina Tarielovna Altmysheva. She presented relevant data to the students and told the most important aspects of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to prevent the spread of smoking. Unfortunately, according to WHO in 2020, 22.3% of the world’s population used tobacco – 36.7% of all men and 7.8% of women in the world. Also, the same organization states with regret that today, it seems, no one needs to be convinced of the dangers of smoking: tobacco consumption annually kills more than 8 million people and causes economic damage in the amount of 1.4 trillion dollars. But not everyone knows how quickly the body begins to recover when we stop poisoning it with nicotine.
During the training, students actively received new knowledge, which became known from their questions at the end of the event. At the end of the event, Deputy Director for educational work Larisa Nikolaevna Kupavtseva thanked the participants and guests of the event for visiting our school.
School-gymnasium №24 named after. A. Tokombayeva is always glad to cooperate with all organizations for the benefit of the development of children and adolescents. In this area, our school welcomes all mutually acceptable initiatives.
